So this one is for all of you in 20’s. The good news is – when it comes to skincare, in 20’s the less is more. During your 20’s the immune system is strong and it’s going the work naturally. However, if you want to keep your skin healthy, you should stick to skincare habits that will help maintain its youthful glow – it’s a decade to seriously rethink and adjust your skincare. Here are a few tips and important reminders that will help you maintain a beautiful and youthful skin in your 20’s.

Upgrading your products
Your 20’s is time to upgrade your skincare collection to one that’s professional, consisting of high quality ingredients that target specific concerns. At this age, your skin is slowly starting to age and it needs products that can help rejuvenate it. We are big fans of Crystal Clear and ESPA skincare ranges, as they offer collections that target specific skin concerns and you can find something for every age.

Your lifestyle
These tips might sound self-explanatory but we can’t stress enough – beautiful, healthy and glowing skin starts from within so it’s extremely important to be mindful about what you put into your body. Drinking water and eating healthy, nutritious food plays a huge role in how our skin looks, mainly to help it keep hydrated and nourished.

Exercise helps get rid of the toxins in your body as well as improves blood circulation. Also, don’t underestimate the need for a good night’s sleep. Your body and skin heals and regenerates in your sleep and it’s also the perfect time to do some skincare routines by applying overnight masks, deep moisturisers or serums and let them do their magic overnight.

Important do’s and don’ts
You should not be be focusing too much on anti-ageing products at this age, as they are formulated for more hormonal skin. If you start using anti-ageing products too early, your skin will start relying on them and stop doing its natural work due to those products containing active ingredients. Stay away from too much exfoliation and intense facials/peels, as they might be too harsh for a younger skin.

When it comes to removing your makeup, be aware that intense rubbing can strip away natural oils and irritate your skin. Choose good quality make-up remover and cleanser to make sure that your makeup comes off easy, without rubbing and takes it all off, as there is nothing worse than going to bed with a skin that’s not fully cleansed. Another quick and simple tip is to pat your face with a towel, instead of rubbing it – do your best to avoid any kind of irritation.

We all love and enjoy a holiday in the sunshine, but more often that not we forget to protect our skin and apply sunscreen, as we’re rushing to get that summer tan on. However, the consequences of not applying SPF will definitely start showing in your 30’s – this includes dark spots, fine lines, pigmentation and dark circles.

SPF is not something we should be thinking about during summer holidays only. It’s also highly recommended to choose makeup products that contain at least SPF 20 since we are exposed to sunlight all year round.

Know what your skin needs
Last but not least, the best tip we can give you is – know your skin. That means knowing your skin type, your main skin concerns, as it will help you choose beauty and skincare products that are safe and most suitable for your skin. Your 20’s is the best time to start applying a proper beauty routine. Enjoy your beautiful skin and reward it with taking a great care of it to avoid any problems later on. If you would like to have more information on specific products that we recommend specifically for your skin type as well as what treatments would work best for you, please book our free skin analysis consultation and we’ll be able to give you our best advice.

Glow This Autumn – 6 Tips for Beautiful Skin

The signs of seasonal change are all around – the temperature is dropping, the days are getting shorter & darker and the air becomes drier. At this time of transition we should be especially aware of how this change affects your skin and what you need to do to protect it. Even though spring and summer feels wonderful and the sun warming our skin makes a positive difference in how we feel physically and emotionally, these warm and sunny months actually are likely to put our skin through damaging UVA exposure, which leaves pigmentation, dryness and sensitivity. It’s important that your skin care routine helps to correct any damage that might have occured in the summer and prepare your skin for the colder weather ahead.

Autumn is the perfect time to take a good care, rejuvenate and repair your skin. To adjust your skin care routine for the autumn months, we suggest following these skin care tips:

Exfoliation is essential. It helps us get rid of the old skin cells and reveal new and healthy skin cells underneath that layer. It also helps minimise the build-up caused by oils. If not prevented, this can result in blemishes and blackheads. One of the many great effects of exfoliation is making your complexion look rejuvenated, glowing and smooth.

Our recommendation: Use ESPA Refining Skin Polish. It’s a deeply cleansing, fine exfoliator to smooth out dull or congested skin. Use a small amount over a damp face, neck and decollete working in small, circular movements, then rinse away with lukewarm water. If you have redness and sensitivity, choose ESPA Hydrating Cleansing Milk instead for a gentler, calming exfoliation.

This is the second essential step in your autumn skin care routine that you can’t miss. Most importantly – choose a moisturiser that suits your skin type best. Choosing the wrong product may lead to producing excess oil, which will make your skin loose glow and look unhealthy. If you are not sure about your skin type, we advise you to book a Skin Analysis consultation here at Enhance. We will help you determine your skin type as well as recommend the best products specifically for your needs.

The right moisturiser will help you repair damage caused by different elements in the summer months, restore balance and also protect your skin against environment. Moisturising will also compliment all the hard work you put in during your cleansing routine. The best time to apply moisturiser is once you’ve cleaned your skin – right after your shower or bath and it’s essential that moisturiser is used every single day.

Now that the days are gloomier and the sun is not shining so often, we can easily forget about using SPF. Ultraviolet rays penetrate through the atmosphere no matter the season. It also happens on both clear and cloudy days, hence you should definitely not neglect including SPF in your daily skincare routine and must make sure to use even low SPF.

Cracked and split lips are so common during the colder autumn season and can make us feel and look like autumn dryness and cooler air is leaving a negative effect on our skin. Don’t let it happen and protect your lips by moisturising them with a rich and nourishing balm. Keep this in your bag, so that you can always use it on the go.

Our recommendation: Use ESPA Skin Rescue Balm. It is great for avoiding chapped lips and make them feel smooth, healthy and moisturised.

On those self-care Sundays, turn your skincare routine into a little pampering session and give it extra boost of care, nourishment and rejuvenation. This can be done with rejuvenating masks or serums.

You can use a mask once of twice a week. This will improve the overall look and feel of your skin, leaving ir radiant, smooth and healthy-looking. Masks are also great when it comes to managing excess oils and minimising pores.

Facial serum is another great product that will give that extra care to your skin. What’s great about them is that they pack a big punch in a small bottle as they deliver high concentration of both antioxidants and vitamins. One bottle will last for months and will give you great results when it comes to improving sun damage and fighting the appearance of aging skin.

It’s so important to take a great care of your skin daily and incorporate all the above mentioned steps. However, sometimes (especially during this transitional time when the skin can be extra sensitive and lacking nourishment) it needs professional help and more effective treatments every few months. We want to help you feel and look your best, and we have created a special treatment for the autumn months that will help you feel like you are taking charge of your skin and you are not giving into the negative effects of the change of the season on your skin.
